Inflammasome Characterization within an Alzheimer’s Faah Ko Murine Model
Alzheimer’s disease is considered the main cause of dementia worldwide. The deposition of β-amyloid and intraneuronal fibrillary tangles, lead to an inflammatory process, based on the NLRP3 inflammasome activation. The absence of FAAH (an endocannabinoid metabolic enzyme) has been described to increase the inflammation while improving patients’ clinical outcome.
